I am asked quite often by interested cosmetic foot surgery candidates if they can see before and after photos. We do have plenty, but getting someone to come into the clinic a year after surgery (scar tissue on the skin can take 1 to 2 years to lose its size and color) for a true “after” photo is very difficult.
Last week, one of our toe lengthening patients came in for her 4 week post operative visit and I couldn’t get to my camera fast enough. Take a look at the incisions on the top of both of her 3rd toes. What’s amazing is how fast the incision has healed, but the lack of swelling and size of the incisions look like someone who had surgery 3 months ago.
We used this product on our patient’s 3rd toe lengthening procedure (similar to this procedure http://dr-robert-j-moore-iii.com/2016/11/06/toe-shortening-and-toe-lengthening-surgery-new-cosmetic-foot-surgery-procedures/) primarily to aid with healing and the risk tissue necrosis. But she was also concerned about having a thick or keliod type scar.
For the past 5 years we have been using Human Placenta ‘ECM’ and Grafting products. These are not true ‘Stem Cells’, but they are about as close as we can get at the present moment. What they do is provide the micro and macro molecular components to repair and regenerate tissue. They are most effective for repairing damaged tissue, but help with the overall healing process as well as a few other attributes.
Part of the list of perks for these Placental cellular products includes:
- Less Pain
- Less Swelling
- Less Scarring
